Catch a Falling Star and Put it in Your Pocket August 11, 2009

Tonight is the Perseids Meteor Shower event.

There will be dozens of meteors an hour from sunset Tuesday night, through sunrise Wednesday. The best viewing will be at 4:00am, when we should be able to see over 200 meteors an hour-this is the time when the earth passes through a denser part of the Swift-Tuttle comet’s tail. The last two summers have been a dud, too many clouds or too overcast to see anything-we hope to catch a few later tonight

“Catch a falling star and put it in your pocket, save it for a rainy day…”

Make a wish!
